Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay
The Vineyard: These grapes are from three Central Coast locations. 50% are from the very cool climate of the Santa Maria Valley, which allows grapes to retain all of their delicate flavors as they ripen to maturity. 36% are from Edna Valley, a slightly warmer region to the north of Santa Maria and 14% are from Paicines, a warmer region in the hills east of Monterey, these grapes add ripeness and fullness to the palate.
Vintage: Cooler than normal summer and fall temperatures made for a very long ripening season. This long “hang time” (with almost no rain during ripening) resulted in very concentrated flavors at ripeness.
Harvest: Average brix: 25.2 pH: 3.46 TA: 0.70 g/100ml
